Insurance Company Limited, Guwahati Regional Office 1.0 Introduction: Government
of India had announced in 1997 a Scheme for reimbursement of
Fire & Allied Insurance Premium for the new Industrial units to be
set up in North Eastern Region vide Notification No.17/1/98-DBA-I dt.14.7.1999
and this was published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary Part-I, Section-I. The Scheme, Eligibility and Procedure for claiming reimbursement etc. of the said scheme is given below: 2.0
Commencement & Duration of the Scheme: It
will come into effect from 24.12.1997 and remain in force for 10 years. 3.0
Applicability: The
Scheme is applicable to New Industrial Units set up in the North Eastern Region
after 4.0
Definition of Industrial Unit: Any
Industry which is included in fire Policy “C” as per the All India Fire
Tariffs, except Refinery & Petrochemicals Plants. 5.0
Fixation of Sum Insured: The
reimbursement of premium will be granted against Sum Insured on Market Value
Basis. 6.0 Mode of Operation: The
Insured party shall pay the initial premium which shall be reimbursed by the
nodal insurance company (National Insurance Company Limited) out of the
revolving fund maintained by them. 7.0 New Industrial Units: The
New Industrial Unit means an industrial unit for the setting up of which
effective steps were not taken prior to

Procedure
for Claiming Reimbursement of Fire Insurance Premium: 9.0 Registration Procedure: 9.1
Industrial Units that falls within the purview of the
Scheme shall apply in Form A 1 for registration under CCIS directly to the
General Manager, District Industries & Commerce Centre of the District. 9.2
All particulars in the application form and required
documents should be submitted by the unit, incomplete application form should
not be accepted by the Registering Authority. 9.3
After receiving the application form alongwith the
necessary documents, the particulars shall be verified through the officials of
the DI & CC. 9.4
The Registration shall be granted to the industrial unit
within 15 days from the date of submission of the application. 9.5
General Manager, District Industries & Commerce Centre
shall be the competent authority to issue registration under CCIS, 97 on behalf
of the Director of Industries & Commerce (DIC). 9.6
The applicant shall furnish additional in formations if
desired by the DI & CC or DIC. 9.7 The General Manager, DI & CC, shall communicate the CCIS Registration to the Unit vide Form A 2. Moreover, a certified copy of the Application Form duly verified by DI & CC should be forwarded to the nodal insurance company: Regional
Manager, National Insurance Co. Ltd. 10.0 Procedure for Claiming Reimbursement of Premium: 10.1
After Registration the Unit shall submit their claims in
prescribed Form: B 1 alongwith the necessary particulars/documents as per
Forms:a2,B2,B3 & B4, and Fire Policy with Schedule of Insurance. 10.2
All the claims will be scrutinised by the nodal insurance
company for settlement and on merit of each claim, and if eligible arrange for
necessary payment subject to availability of fund. 10.3
Designated Agency for reimbursement of premium: Designated
Insurance Company Limited is designated as the nodal insurance Company for
reimbursement of premium out of the revolving fund maintained by them. All the
