Central Grant of Subsidy for Industrial Units in the North Eastern Region

The Government of India announced the following scheme of Central Grants for industrial units located in declared industrial estate areas or specified type of industries (Annexure - 2).

The subsidies will be effective from the 24.12.1997 and remain in force upto 31.03.2007.

1.   Central Capital Investment Subsidy :

@ 15% of their investment in respect of new unit or 15% of the additional investment in respect of substantial expansion (in Plant and Machinery) subject to a maximum ceiling of Rs. 30 lakhs.

2.   Central Interest Subsidy :

@ 10% on the working capital advanced to the industrial units by the scheduled banks, Central / State Financial institution for a maximum period of 10 (ten) years from the date of commencement of production.

3.   Central Comprehensive Insurance Subsidy :

The reimbursement of the initial premium paid.

4.   Central Excise Duty :

Refund of the amount of duty paid from the account current during the month under- consideration to the manufacturer, by the 15th of the next month.

5.    Central Transport Subsidy :

  1. @ 90% of the transportation cost incurred for the movement of raw materials from outside the State (both outside the North Eastern Region as well as within the North Eastern Region).

  2. @ 9O% of the transportation cost for export of the finished products outside the North Eastern Region.

  3. @ 50% of the transportation cost for export of finished products outside the State but within the North Eastern Region.

6.    Support of NEC for Promotion of Industrialisation of North Eastern States :

@25% of the Project Cost subject to a maximum limit of Rs.50 lakhs to small and tiny sector of industries with projects upto Rs500 lakhs.
