Departmental Man Power Training Schemes

The Man Power Training Schemes of the Department of Industries, Meghalaya has been in operation since the erstwhile composite Assam Government time. The Scheme from its title itself aims at generation of technical skill manpower, in different vocational trades, for the promotion and development of entrepreneurship in the State.

The two pronged objectives of the Schemes have been :-

to impart and create skill to the local youths in different vocational trades; and
Upgrade and improve self acquired skill amongst the local youths.

The Department, as a follow up to these Schemes of man power Development, offers their Passed Out Trainees with Grants-in-Aid (GIA), both in kind (i.e.. Machineries, Tools and Equipments) as well as in cash (for Working Capital), at later stages on completion of the training courses.

To Supplement the follow up action, the Department also sponsors the passed out trainees to avail bank finances, as per their requirement.
