Export Promotion Industrial Park (E.P.I.P)

The Scheme of Export Promotion Industrial Part (EPIP), at Byrnihat, was a Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS) which envisages development of an area by providing all infrastructures required by Industrial Units having export potential.  

Under the above Scheme, Industrial Units committing to export a minimum of 33 % (later exempted to 25% for the Industrially backward states, like Meghalaya) of their finished products were only to be permitted to be set up in the E.P.I.P.  

As on date, the infrastructure provided in the EPIP are:-

1. Roads;

2. Water Supply;

3. Power;

4. Drainage;

5. Guest House;

6. Residential Quarters;

7. Office Buildings;

8. Common Facility Buildings for

   1. Banks,

   2. Post office, etc.

The land is leased out for a period of 30 years, renewal at the following rates;  

1. @ Rs.20.00 per Sq.Mtrs/annum (in developed area) and

2. @ Rs.5.00 per sq.Mtrs/annum (in undeveloped area)

The status of the Industrial units, at EPIP, Byrnihat are as follows:-
